Harrison Chang | 3rd Prize | Winds & Percussion | 7th Edition | ENKOR Int'l Music Competition

 


Harrison Chang is a junior at The Harker School located in San Jose, California. He currently studies marimba under Marimba One Artist Tammy Chen. Harrison won the National League of Performing Arts Young Artist Competition’s grand prize and scholarship in 2020 and also received numerous first prize accolades from the United States International Music Competition. He also placed second in the Enkor International Music Competition, second in the Enkor International Chamber Competition, won the gold prize award at NLPA’s Chamber Competition, performed winner’s concerts at Carnegie Hall, and attended the Junior Bach Festival as an Honors winner. He has taken masterclasses and lessons from acclaimed artists such as Gordon Stout, She-e Wu, Theodor Milkov, Emmanuel Sejourne, Momoko Kamiya, Marta Klimsara, and many more. In 2018, Harrison was invited to learn from renowned artist Ludwig Albert for two weeks in Portugal, where he studied the art of six mallet Marimba playing. In his free time, he enjoys playing basketball, practicing piano, and watching Youtube.
