Abby Reed | 2nd Prize | Violin | 8th Edition | ENKOR Int'l Music Competition


Abby Reed is a 16-year-old violinist who has been studying violin since the age of 4. She studies at Vanderbilt University’s Blair School of Music as a Myra Jackson Blair Honors Scholar with Dr. Christina McGann. Currently she is 1st violin in Vanderbilt's Curb Youth Symphony and has been concertmaster and co-concertmaster in multiple youth and honors orchestras. She has performed at Carnegie Hall as a soloist and concertmaster for the Honors Performance Series. Abby is the 2021 NAMTA senior division winner of the Young Artist Achievement Award, as well as the winner of 2020 Chicago Chamber Music Festival Concerto Competition, and 2020 Progressive Musicians International Piano, Violin, & Guitar Competition winner with a Jury Distinction award. An avid chamber musician and exceptional soloist, she has performed in master classes for Paul Kantor, Ilya Kaler, Violaine Melancon, Tien-Hsin Cindy Wu, Janet Sung, I-Hao Lee, Ann Setzer.
