Benjamin Jiang, age 13, has been studying piano since the age of 5, and currently studies with Dr. Natsuki Fukasawa. His accomplishments as a pianist include winning the United States Open Music Competition, the Pacific Musical Society & Foundation’s Competition, and the Auburn Symphony’s Young Artists Competition, as well as receiving second prize in the US New Star Piano Competition and the Bradshaw and Buono International Piano Competition. He has also won top prizes in the United States International Music Competition, the Bellagrande International Music Competition, and the Music Teachers’ Association of California’s Northern Regional Piano Concerto Solo Competition. As a concerto competition winner, Benjamin performed with the Merced Symphony in 2019.
Benjamin is in 8th grade at Pinkerton Middle School in Elk Grove. In addition to sharing music with the community, alongside the state-wide organization Lifting Spirits with Music, he also enjoys playing tennis and pursuing a deep knowledge of math."
