Hiro Yoshimura 15, began playing violin at age of 6, studying with Ms. Tomomi Matsumoto to date and Mr. Chen Zhao of San Francisco Symphony last summer. Hiro was in the Senior Orchestra at California Youth Orchestra in 2018-2019, and joined San Francisco Symphony Youth Orchestra in the fall of 2020. He also joined San Francisco Conservatory of Music, Pre-college in the fall of 2020, studying with Mr. William Barbini.
He has won numerous top prizes in regional and international competitions in his age group, including: Grand Place in 2021 Silicon Valley Music Competition in High school violin division; Grand Prix and Best Soloist award in 2021 New York Concert Festival International Spring 2021 competition; 3rd place at the 2021 Houston International Music Competition in the ages 14-18 division; 1st place at 2020 DVC/HNU competition; 1st place at 2020 KAMSA string competition; 2nd place at 2020 USIMC competition in the age 18 or under group; and has won auditions to perform Junior Bach Festival in both violin and piano in two consecutive years 2020 and 2021.
Hiro attended Music Academy of the West MERIT program in the summer of 2018, and Meadowmount in the summer of 2019, and Music at Tateuchi in the summer of 2020, and will return to Meadowmount (online) this summer. He also enjoys Python and HTML coding and math tutoring as a member of To-The-Limit-Maths.
