Joshua Cisneros | 3rd Prize | Violin | 8th Edition | ENKOR Int'l Music Competition

 


Joshua Cisneros is 15 years old, and is a home-schooled freshman. He started playing violin at the age of 5 with Patrick Shen. He joined Palo Alto Chamber Orchestra at age 9, and began studying under Robin Sharp. At age 12 he joined Peninsula Young Artists, as the assistant concertmaster. That year he began to study under Elbert Tsai, and the next year joined the 1st violin section of the Peninsula Youth Orchestra (PYO). He has been selected 3 times at the Junior Bach festival, won 3rd place at the 2020 USOMC, and a honorable mention at the 2021 KAMSA. He has been playing piano for 4 years. He also loves to sing bass in a choir which has been invited to sing throughout California. He has attended C'est Bon summer music camp twice, PYO summer camp, Greenwood Music Camp, Summer Music Institute at Tateuchi Hall, and has been accepted into Interlochen Arts Camp for 2021 with a full California Violin Scholarship.
