David Lin, 16, is currently a junior at Homestead High School. David has studied the harp for almost six years. He is currently studying with Dan Levitan and Linda Wood Rollo. He has won many awards including 2nd place at the Hong Kong International Competition and 1st Place at the United States International Music Competition. He won the Bronze and the Harpiana prize in the Yvonne La Mothe Schwager Harp Competition in 2017 and 2019 and played for the 2020 California All-State Symphony Orchestra. He placed second place for the Mark and Pioneer International Music Competition and American Classical Young Musicians Award Competition. He was a finalist for the American Harp Society National Competition. He was the principal harpist with California Youth Associate Symphony, Golden State Youth Senior Orchestra and his school orchestra. He has won numerous accolades and also participated in California’s All State Honor Orchestra. David loves using his music for service through performing for benefit concerts and volunteering at a veterans hospital. Outside of music he loves to debate and compete in Model UN and FBLA.
