Ethan Chen is currently a Junior at Davis Senior High School in California. He has been learning Cello since he was six years old.
2017-2019, Ethan played as Principal Cello for two years at California Youth Symphony Associate Orchestra.
In 2018, Ethan made his Carnegie Hall debut as an American Protégé first place winner in Piano and Strings Competition.
In 2019, Ethan won first place at DVC/HNU Young Artist String Competition. He was also the winner of California Youth Symphony Associate Orchestra Concerto Competition and gave a solo performance with the Orchestra. Ethan was also a finalist at the Palo Alto Philharmonic Concerto Competition.
In 2020, Ethan won First Prize with an Exceptional Young Talent Special Prize at Grand Prize Virtuoso International Music Competition in Bonn. He won first place at VOCE Alameda Branch Chamber Music Competition. He was invited to perform at Junior Bach Music Festival.
In 2021, Ethan made his 2nd Carnegie Hall appearance as an American Protégé first place winner in Romantic Music Competition. He won first place at VOCE Yolo Branch Solo Music Competition.
On 11/13/2021, Ethan won first place at Solano Symphony Young Artist Competition and is invited to play solo with the Symphony on February 17th, 2022.
