Justin Kijun Lee | 3rd Prize | Strings | 7th Edition | ENKOR Int'l Music Competition


 Justin Lee, 10, was born in South Korea where he started to study cello at age 4 ½ and found his instinct to love the beauty of cello. Soon after his family moved to Virginia, USA when he was 5, and he continued to study cello where his passion increased even more. He won many awards and prizes including 1st place in the YMIC Washington National Youth Competition in 2018 (at age 6), 1st place in the American Protége Piano & String Competition in 2019 (at age 7), 1st place in the 48th Annual Joseph and Goldie Feder Memorial String Competition in 2019 (at age 7) and 3rd place in the CAI Virtuoso Competition (at age 6). Justin performed twice at the Weill hall in Carnegie Hall for the winner's concert in 2018 and 2019. He also had been featured on Maryland Public Television in 2018 to perform Prelude, Suite No.1 by J.S.Bach. He is currently studying with Sunghee Choi where he is further expanding his musical abilities. Aside from playing the cello, Justin enjoys playing golf, folding complex origami models and solving challenging math problems.
