Chanan Ngo | 3rd Prize | Violin | 9th Edition | ENKOR Int'l Music Competition


Chanan Ngo began piano lessons at 4 and violin lessons at 5. At the age of 6, he began playing in orchestras and chamber groups. He is currently a member of the Calgary Youth Orchestra’s first violin section as well as the pianist. He also plays in a piano quintet. 

A regular winner of scholarships and awards in violin and piano, Chanan received the medal for having the highest mark (piano) at the Calgary Performing Arts Festival in 2017. He was the winner of the Mount Royal Conservatory Sinfonia Concerto Competition (violin) in 2019. In 2022, Chanan won the Calgary Concerto Competition (violin), while placing 3rd (piano) at the Frank Simpson Concerto Competition. Chanan debuted as soloist (violin) with the Calgary Civic Symphony in 2022. 

Outside of music, Chanan enjoys watching movies, gaming with friends, building LEGO and Nanoblock, practicing Aikido, and playing with his cat Dani.
