Joshua Cisneros | 3rd Prize | Violin | 9th Edition | ENKOR Int'l Music Competition


 Violinist Joshua Cisneros, 16, is a home-schooled sophomore. He started playing violin at the age of 5. He joined the Palo Alto Chamber Orchestra, then later the PYA, as the assistant concertmaster. He is now the Concertmaster of the Peninsula Youth Orchestra, plays in a string quartet at Young Chamber Musicians, and studies with Elbert Tsai. In 2022 he has won 1st place at the USOMC and the Silicon Valley Competition. He has also been selected to perform 4 times at the Junior Bach Festival, received awards at USOMC, ENKOR International competition and KAMSA. He has also studied piano the last 4 years, and loves to sing bass. He has attended C'est Bon Chamber Music Festival, PYO summer camp, Greenwood Music Camp, Summer Music Institute at Tateuchi Hall, and was co-Concertmaster at the Interlochen Arts Camp in the Summer of 2021. He will be attending Tanglewood Music Camp this summer. Joshua has received masterclasses from Midori, Richard Lin, and Jorja Fleezanis.
