Riko Ando, age 14, is currently studying with Hang Li at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, Pre-College Division. She has enjoyed playing the piano since the age of 5. She started learning piano performance under Eiko Nagano in Japan before she moved to the US. In 2020, she was nominated as the student of the Piano Academy founded by Sony Computer Science Laboratories, Inc(SCSL) and was invited to the selected concert held by SCSL. She will participate in the Young Performers Program 2022 provided by Menlo Music as a chosen pianist. Riko has earned awards in competitions, including Second Prize in the 72nd All Japan Student MusicConcours in Kitakyusyu in 2018 for the primary school category, Semi-Finalist in the Seattle International Piano Competition in the age group 10-13 in 2019, and First Prize in the MTAC Piano Concerto Solo Competition in the age group 13-15 in 2020.
