Jessica MacBrayne | 2nd Prize | Strings | 8th Edition | ENKOR Int'l Music Competition

Hi, my name is Jessica MacBrayne. I have dreamed of playing the harp since I was little, Just recently I've been able to start! I have loved being able to play around with the pedals and all the interesting sounds that only a pedal harp can make. In my first seven months of learning the pedal harp I won the Grade 8 class of the 2022 New Zealand Harp Performance Competition, and was also accepted to study Music Performance on the pedal harp at the New Zealand School of Music (NZSM). In addition to being accepted to the NZSM I was awarded an NZSM Director's Award: "These awards are only offered to students whom we consider to have exceptional talent" -NZSM

(At the time of recording the video used submitted for the ENKOR competition I had been learning the pedal harp for only seven months.)

My repertoire for this ENKOR competition entry is:

Automne by Marcel Grandjany (2.56), Fire Dance by David Watkins (2.48) and Variations on a Theme of Mozart by Mikhail Glinka (6.12) Here is the link to my entire programme, all three pieces, in one unedited recording: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=me_ELrqfV1I
