Jisang Kymm | 1st Prize | Strings | 8th Edition | ENKOR Int'l Music Competition


Jisang Kymm is a 16 year-old violist attending Horace Mann School in New York City. He has been studying the viola with Yi-Fang Huang and Molly Carr in the Juilliard Pre-College Program since 2020.  

Jisang is a first-prize winner in various music competitions including the Bellagrande International Music Competition, New York Young Virtuoso Competition, Prima Volta Music Competition, International Grande Music Competition, and the International Music Grand Prix. He was the finalist of Lyra Music Youth Competition. He was also named a National Young Arts winner in classical music in 2022 and 2023.   

In the summer of 2021, he participated in the Heifetz International Music Institute, in which he studied with Paul Coletti, Barbara Westphal, Paul Neubauer, Mai Motobuchi, and Felix Ungar. In the summer of 2022, he participated in the Perlman Music Program under the tutelage of Itzhak Perlman, Merry Peckham, Jia Kim, Kirsten Docter and Carol Rodland. 

Jisang enjoys playing for the HarMonia ensemble, which is comprised of Horace Mann School high school students. HarMonia performs in annual concerts to help fund the Summer on the Hill program, which provides academic enrichment for high-achieving, disadvantaged students from the Bronx, New York.
