Jonathan Yuen | 2nd Prize | Winds & Percussion | 9th Edition | ENKOR Int'l Music Competition

Sixteen-year-old percussionist and 11th grader who studies at Mission San Jose High School in Fremont, California and currently a percussionist at the California Youth Symphony Senior Orchestra. 

He started his percussion journey at age of 6 and is now studying with Jacob Nissly and Tammy Chen, also had pleasure to have private and master classes with some of the greatest marimba artists such as Gordon Stout, She-e Wu, Emmanuel Sejourne, Momoko Kamiya, Pei-Ching Wu, WeiChen Lin ,Theodor Milkov, Lynn Vartan and Pius Chueng. 

Jonathan had been selected to participate in NYO2 in the past year and this year. He had won the 1st place of many competitions such as PASIC, USIMC, NLPA, also had been selected several times to perform at the Junior Bach Festival as soloist and chamber group.

When not studying for school and music, he enjoys hiking, skiing, rafting, camping and travelling with the family.
