Ethan Hyo Jeon | 2nd Prize | Strings | 9th Edition | ENKOR Int'l Music Competition


Ethan Hyo Jeon is a scholarship student at The Royal Conservatory’s The Phil and Eli Taylor Performance Academy for Young Artists under the tutelage of David Hetherington. Ethan has received numerous awards and scholarships including Grand Prize winner of Ontario Music Festival Association Competition in 2021, 22, and 23 and third place winner of Canadian Music Competition National Final at Quebec City and Toronto. 

Ethan has been featured as a soloist with Kitchener Waterloo Chamber Orchestra and Laurier Symphony Orchestra as a winner of youth concerto competition. As an avid chamber and orchestral musician, Ethan holds positions of principal cello of the Taylor Academy Chamber Orchestra at The Royal Conservatory of Music and assistant principal cello of the Toronto Symphony Youth Orchestra and the National Youth Orchestra of Canada 2023. Recently, Ethan is honored to receive the 2024 National YoungArts Award in the United States.

Ethan is the founding member of Music in the Air Project, an initiative to organize performance with young musicians to share the love and passion of the music with whole communities.
