TV Duo | 2nd Prize | Chamber Music | 10th Edition | ENKOR Int'l Music Competition


Timothy Shi is a classical violinist and a junior at Millburn High School. He began playing violin at four and has since performed as a guest soloist with the New Jersey Symphony and as a soloist at Lincoln Center. Currently, he is the New Jersey Symphony Academy Orchestra and the New Jersey All-State Orchestra’s concertmaster; previously, he was the assistant principal of the All-National Symphony Orchestra. He received first and second place in the Henry Lewis Concerto Competition in 2022 and 2020, and third place at the Camerata Artists International Competition. Outside of practicing, he loves to program, talk with friends, and swim.

Vivian Zhang, 15, is a sophomore at Millburn High School in New Jersey. She has been playing piano since 5 and currently studies under Beatrice Long. As a soloist, Vivian has won prizes including first place in the VIVO International Music Competition, second in the American Youth Talent Competition, NJFMC's Piano and Vocal competition, and was recently selected by NJMEA to perform a masterclass.  She recently attended the InterHarmony International Music Festival in Italy, where she performed several masterclasses and was selected to play in the Young Artist Showcase Concert and performed a full-length recital in Qinghai, China. Vivian has performed with several chamber groups. Most notably, she performed Dvorak’s Piano Quintet in A major and placed in several competitions, including first place in the VIVO International Music Competition, Charleston International Music Competition, and IYMC Chamber Competition.  Vivian also studies the violin under Duoming Ba and was a member of the NJSO Youth Orchestra. She spreads her passion for music by volunteering with Keys 2 Success.
