Samuel Choi is a 17-year-old clarinetist at Valencia High School in Placentia, California. He has studied with David Chang for the past 4 years. For the 2022-2023 season, he toured Vienna, Austria, and Prague, Czech Republic as part of the Pacific Symphony Youth Orchestra, and now holds the principal position in the 2023-2024 season. He has also played in the Pacific Symphony Youth Wind Ensemble from 2021-2022, and was accepted into the California All-State Symphonic Band, Wind Ensemble, and Symphony Orchestra groups over the past three years. Samuel recently earned a Merit award from the Spotlight Competition run by The Music Center, and placed 3rd in the Pacific Symphony Youth Orchestra concerto competition. He plans to continue pursuing his clarinet studies into college.
