Angie Zhu,10 years old, is a 5th grade student at Wayside Elementary School in Potomac, Maryland. She started playing piano at age 4 and has been a student of Ms. San-Qing Lu Bennaman since then.
Angie has received many top prizes in numerous competitions. Her most recent accomplishments include: Two times First prize winner of William Knabe International Piano Competition (2021, 2023); Two times First prize winner of International Young Artist Piano Competition (2020, 2023), and Best Chinese Prize in 2020; Two times First prize winner of Miriam S. Gottlieb Competition (2021, 2023); First prize winner of AAMS piano competition in 2022; Two times Best performance award of Rockville Competition (2021, 2022); Best Performance Award winner of YMIC Metropolitan Music Festival in 2021; Grand Prize Award winner of YMIC International Music Competition in 2021; First place winner of American Protégé International Piano and Strings Competition in 2020; Grand Prize winner of New York Concert Festival International Competition in 2019; and Four times First place winner of MSMTA Piano Solo competition (2020, 2021, 2022, 2024).
Angie loves to bring her passion of music to a broader audience. She volunteers to perform at Brookdale senior living center and many other senior living centers in Maryland on a regular basis. In her pastime, Angie likes playing card games and reading fantasy books.
