David Sun, 17, is a junior at West Windsor-Plainsboro High School South. David started learning the piano when he was six and currently studies with Rita Shklar at the Westminster Conservatory of Music. He has been named a prizewinner in numerous competitions in past years, such as the Westminster Conservatory's Achievement Award Competition, the NJMTA Young Musicians Competition, the Great Composers Competition Series competitions, and the International Music and Arts Society Competitions, among others. He has studied in masterclasses with pianists Awadagin Pratt, Seymour Bernstein, Daniel Epstein, and Natasha Paremski. David was accepted into and attended the Eastern Music Festival in 2023 and will be attending the Boston University Tanglewood Institute Young Artists Piano Program this summer.
