Jammie Lee | 1st Prize | Piano | 11th Edition | ENKOR Int'l Music Competition


 Born in South Korea and currently based in Winnipeg, Canada, Jammie Lee has carved a distinctive path in the world of classical music. Beginning his musical education under Dr. Seo Jung Won at the prestigious Seoul Arts Center, Jammie moved to Canada, where he continued his studies under the guidance of Dr. Kyung Kim and then Dr. Lawrence Jones at Brandon University. Despite an illustrious trajectory in music, Jammie graduated from a Bachelor of Science degree from McGill University, demonstrating a unique blend of artistic talent and academic excellence with an aim towards a career in medicine.

Most recently, Jammie won first place and the top prize of $10,000 at the 2024 WMC McLellan Competition, where he performed Rachmaninoff's Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini with the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra in the finale. He was also the winner of the absolute platinum medal at the 2024 US-Canadian International Music Competition. He has previously won top prizes at the Canadian Music Competition National Finals, the Federation of Canadian Music Festivals National Finals, the Carles and Sofia Piano Competition, and the International ENKOR Competition.

Jammie launched his professional debut at age 15 with the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra and was the emerging artist at the 2021 Agassiz Chamber Music Festival. His performances have been featured in radio interviews on CBC News and Winnipeg Classical 107, marking Jammie as a prominent figure in the Canadian music scene.
