Nathan Chambers | 2nd Prize | Winds & Percussion | 11th Edition | ENKOR Int'l Music Competition


 Born in Indianapolis, Indiana, Nathan Chambers has been studying/performing the trombone since the 6th grade, having studied under and taken lessons with renowned performers and educators such as Brittany Lasch, Blake Schlabach, Carl Lenthe, Larry Zalkind, Peter Ellefson, and Jim Beckel. He has toured to Carnegie Hall with the Indianapolis Youth Orchestra, and performed as principal with the IU Wind Ensemble, Chamber Orchestra, and Symphony Orchestra. Some of Nathan's accolades include the John Philip Sousa Band Award, runner-up at the Indianapolis Young Artist Competition, and being named an outstanding jazz soloist at the Purdue University Jazz Festival for three consecutive years (2020, 2021, 2022). He was most recently a finalist in the 2024 Big 12 Tenor Trombone Competition. During the summer of 2024, Nathan participated in several programs such as the Mulcahy Trombone Seminar, D.C. Trombone Workshop, and LA Studio Recording Intensive in Burbank, CA. He is currently studying with Dr. Brittany Lasch at Indiana University's Jacobs School of Music (Class of 2026), studying trombone performance.
