Jisoo is an 11-year-old violinist currently studying with Elbert Tsai in San Jose. She began playing the violin at the age of 9 and has since developed a deep passion for both solo and ensemble performance. Over the past few years, Jisoo has earned numerous awards, including from the Great Composers Competition, the 2023 US International Open Music Competition, the 2022 Silicon Valley Music Competition, and the 2022 American Protégé International Music Talent Competition, which led to a performance at Carnegie Weill Hall in June 2023.
She received first-place awards in both the 2025 Silicon Valley Music Competition and the Charleston Music Competition. In the same year, she was awarded a Gold Medal with a Command Performance distinction at the California Music Educators Association (CMEA) State Solo and Ensemble Festival, as well as the National School Orchestra Award.
Jisoo participated in the California All-State Junior High School (JHS) String Orchestra in 2024 and, in 2025, had the honor of serving as concertmaster for the JHS Concert Orchestra. Additionally, she was invited to participate in the CMEA Bay Section Orchestra and served as the principal violinist of her section. She has been a member of the California Youth Symphony for three years and will be joining the Senior Orchestra next season. Outside of music, Jisoo enjoys playing golf and basketball with her friends and family.
