Clara Jo Yun is a fourteen-year-old violinist who is a rising freshman at Leigh High School. She has been playing the violin for seven years and has been a student of Elbert Tsai since 2023. Currently, she is a part of the California Youth Symphony and serves as the concertmaster of her orchestra.
She recently won the Concerto Competition at CYS and was given the opportunity to play the first movement of Lalo Symphonie Espagnole with the orchestra. She was also awarded the Grand Prize (chosen among all the first-prize winners across all instruments) in the Middle School division of the 2025 Silicon Valley Music Competition. During the 2024-25 season,
Clara played in the California All State Orchestra and also participated in the CMEA Honors Orchestra in 2024. This summer, she will be participating in Center Stage Strings at the University of Michigan and the KAMSA Youth Symphony Orchestra.
