Preston is a junior at Vista Del Lago High School in California. He began studying the cello at age six with his mother and currently studies with Susan Lamb Cook, having previously worked with Horatio Edens. He was the first-prize winner of the 2025 Auburn Symphony Young Artist Competition and the second-prize winner of the 2025 Folsom Lake Symphony Young Artist Competition. He has been performing in the Great Composer Series Rising Stars of Chamber Music program since 2021. In addition to music, he loves baseball. He is a school athlete and a left-handed pitcher who also switch hits.
