Alexander Mikhailov | Second Prize | Piano | 13th Edition | ENKOR Int'l Music Competition

 



Alexander Mikhailov, from Newton, Massachusetts, is an 8th grader at Brown Middle School with a lifelong passion for piano. He is a student of Natalia Harlap and is also currently pursuing piano studies at the Royal Conservatory of Music, where he has completed seven levels with First Class Honors with Distinction and is now studying at Level 8.

In addition, Alexander attends Angel Ramón Rivera’s Intermediate Piano Seminars at the New England Conservatory Preparatory School, where he was awarded the Angel Ramón Rivera Endowed Scholarship for 2025–2026, and participates in the Studio Chamber Music Program at the Rivers School Conservatory.

Alexander has been recognized in numerous piano competitions. Most recently, in 2026, he won First Place at the Young Artist Piano Competition, received a Gold Award in the Professional Artist Group at the IPPA International Piano Competition (National Round), and placed second in the New England Piano Teachers’ Association (NEPTA) Mildred Freiberg Middle School Competition.

In 2025, he earned the Nancy Oliva Award at the NEPTA Intermediate I Recitals and Second Place at the XVII International Chopin Competition in Connecticut. His earlier accomplishments include top prizes at international competitions, among them Second Place at the “Music Lights the Way” Piano Festival at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto.

Alexander’s talent has brought him to prestigious stages, including Koerner Hall in Toronto and Carnegie Hall. To further refine his artistry, Alexander actively participates in piano festivals and masterclasses.
