Andy Zhao | Third Prize | Piano | 13th Edition | ENKOR Int'l Music Competition

Andy Zhao is an emerging pianist distinguished by his technical mastery and intellectual depth. In 2026, he garnered widespread acclaim at the Crescendo International Music Competition, where he achieved the sole perfect score in the State of Connecticut. This distinction culminated in a solo performance at Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall, along with the competition's highest cash prize.

A versatile artist, Andy’s repertoire reflects a balance between the rigorous structures of late Beethoven and the avant-garde language of Alexander Scriabin. His interpretation of Scriabin’s Sonata No. 5 earned him First Place at the CSMTA Competition. His 2026 season is marked by artistic engagements, including a masterclass with Professor Melvin Chen (Deputy Dean, Yale School of Music) and his selection for the Interlochen Piano Program.

Andy’s musical foundation was established at the age of five under the mentorship of Julie Liu, where he was a recipient of the MTAC Gold Award. He currently continues his studies with Elly Wen, expanding his artistry on the international stage.
