Ian Pheh | Third Prize | Piano | 13th Edition | ENKOR Int'l Music Competition

Ian Pheh, an Australian born in Malaysia, began his piano journey at the age of two and commenced formal lessons at the age of seven. Since then, he has advanced rapidly, completing his LMusA at the age of 15.

He has participated in several piano competitions and has been honoured with First Prize at the Steinway Youth Piano Competition (2022), Second Prize at the Melbourne International Piano and String Competition (2022), and Third Prize at the London Overseas Musicians League.

Having completed a Diploma of Music at the University of New England, he is now studying for a Bachelor of Engineering at Swinburne University. He currently studies piano under the tutelage of Dr. Mikhail Solovei.

In addition to being a pianist, Ian is also a violinist and composer, having appeared in 3MBS The Talent Composer Special. As an emerging composer, he aims to bring relaxation and positivity to listeners through his works, which are rooted in classical traditions—particularly the Romantic era—while also drawing inspiration from nature. He is also engaged in teaching piano, violin, and composition.
