Pianist Isaac Choi, 16, is a sophomore at Saratoga High School. He began playing piano at the age of seven and currently studies with Professor Hans Boepple.
Isaac has been a recurring invitee to the Junior Bach Festival for several years. In a rare 2026 distinction, he was invited to perform across four separate disciplines: piano, cello, organ, and harpsichord. Isaac has been recognized as a prizewinner in several competitions, including the ENKOR International Music Competition, the World Piano Teachers' Association Finland Piano Competition, the Pacific International Piano Competition, and the Canadian International Music Competition. He has also received honorable mentions at the Marilyn Mindell Piano Competition, the Burlingame Music Club Competition, and the International New Star Piano Competition.
A dedicated chamber musician, Isaac was recently selected as a winner of the School Chamber Music Festival, leading to a featured performance with his school’s piano trio. His chamber experience further extends to Young Chamber Musicians and the California Music Preparatory Academy. In addition, Isaac plays cello in his school string orchestra and attended the California All-State Orchestra in 2026.
