Lyra Song, a sixth grader, began her piano studies at the age of four. She currently studies with Chia-Lin Yang at the Pre-College Division of the San Francisco Conservatory of Music.
Lyra has won several piano competitions, including the US New Star International Etude Competition, USIMC, the WPTA Finland International Piano Competition, the Elite International Music Competition, and the ENKOR International Music Competition. She has also attended multiple piano summer programs, including the IU Summer Piano Academy, the CIM Young Artist Piano Seminar, the MSM Piano Summer Program, and the Colburn Piano Summer Program.
In addition to piano, Lyra studies cello at SFCM. She has won cello competitions, including First Place in the ENKOR Strings Competition, performs in orchestras and chamber groups, and has attended chamber music programs as a cellist, including Heifetz, Rushmore Festival, and C’est Bon Academy.
