Olivia Chen (13) is a dedicated violinist from Mountain View, California. She has served as a three-time Concertmaster of the Palo Alto Chamber Orchestra and is currently a first violinist in the California Youth Symphony (CYS) Senior Orchestra as well as a member of the Blach Honors Orchestra.
Throughout her musical journey, Olivia has performed in renowned venues including Davies Symphony Hall and Chicago Symphony Hall. Her accomplishments include receiving awards at the Music Teachers’ Association of California Autumn Festival in 2022, 2024, and 2025, along with First Place at the United States Open Music Competition in both the Instrumental Solo Junior and Young Prodigy divisions. She was also selected as Assistant Concertmaster of the CODA California JHS All-State Concert Orchestra and the CODA California JHS All-State String Orchestra in 2025 and 2026.
As a passionate chamber musician, she was chosen to participate in a master class at the Colburn Chamber Music Intensive. Beyond her achievements on stage, Olivia values sharing music with others through outreach performances at senior centers and community events. Outside of music, Olivia likes to read, watch movies, and hang out with her friends.
