Zen Parris | Second Prize | Violin | 13th Edition | ENKOR Int'l Music Competition

 



Violinist Zen Parris has been playing his instrument for over a decade, beginning his musical journey when his grandfather gifted him a violin for Christmas. He currently resides in San Diego, California, and studies with Sang Shen. He has also studied with Hernan Constantino and Ayumu Iizuka, as well as received masterclasses from Philadelphia Orchestra Concertmaster David Kim, as well as distinguished members of the San Diego Symphony.

His most recent competition was the San Diego Rotary Club Youth Instrumental Competition, where he won first prize in his age division of under 16. He was also first prize in the Coronado Philharmonic Concerto Competition, where he debuted as a soloist at the age of 14. He has participated in numerous musical programs, including the Heifetz Institute's summer program for three weeks, the California All-State Honor Orchestra, and the California All-Southern Honor Orchestra. Zen is currently a member of the Advanced Orchestra in the Mainly Mozart Youth Orchestra.
