Leyla Kabuli studies piano, violin, bassoon as a scholarship student in the Pre-College Division of San Francisco Conservatory of Music. She performed in San Francisco and Portola Valley with Ensemble San Francisco as a winner of their student competition. She also performed with the Waring Festival Orchestra at the McCallum Theater in Palm Desert as a top prizewinner in the 2015 Virginia Waring International Competition. Her previous piano achievements include performances in Carnegie Hall in 2012 and 2014, Ventford Mansion and West Street Theater in Lenox, MA in 2014, Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in 2013, Peninsula Symphony Family Concert in 2013, and Berkeley Junior Bach Festival in 2010. She won first prizes in American Protégé International, Sylvia Ghiglieri, Classical Masters, Marilyn Mindell, CAPMT State Honors, CAPMT Contemporary, Berkeley Etude Club, East Bay Piano and East Bay Contemporary, MTAC, US-China Exchange International, and several US Open Music competitions as well as many top prizes in Pacific Musical Society, Ross McKee, San Francisco Chopin, Henry and Carol Zeiter, and AFAF competitions. She especially enjoys collaborative piano, and her piano duo was the California State winner and the Southwest Regional alternate winner of the 2015 MTNA Senior Piano Duet Competition. She has been chosen for the Music Teachers Association of California 2015 Certificate of Merit Panel Honors, and has also completed 10 certificates of the National Piano Guild. Leyla attended the Boston University Tanglewood Institute in 2014, and the Southeastern Piano Festival in South Carolina in 2015.
