Shuan Hern Lee: 2nd Prize, Piano, Cat.B | 2015


12 year old Shuan Hern Lee was born in Australia. He started piano lessons since he was 2 and half with his dad, Yoon Sen Lee. He has performed in Europe since the age of 3 and has performed in countries such as UK, Poland, Sweden, Singapore, Malaysia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Denmark and Moscow and has won top prizes at international piano competitions since the age of 4. These include 1st prize and with the highest mark at the 3rd Chopin International Piano Competition at Hartford Connecticut, USA in 2012.  He also won 3rd prize in the Russian Music International Piano Competition in San Jose, USA . In 2013, he won 1st prize at the Astana Piano Passion in Kazakhstan and various 2nd prizes at Horowitz International Piano Competition in Kiev, Ukraine and he also won Laureate Prize (Highest honour) at the Sberbank Debut International Music Competition and Festival in Ukraine.

Shuan Hern has also won in many 1st prizes in piano competitions within Australia including the WA Music Teachers Association Recital and Concerto Awards, North of Perth Music Festival, Fremantle eisteddfod and West Australian Pianists Competition.

In April 2011, Shuan Hern launched his debut CD album, My Musical Adventures. He has also performed with Mueller International Orchestra of Brisbane, Vienna Pops orchestra and Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra of Perth. In overseas, Shuan Hern has performed with Kazakhstan Philharmonic Orchestra and the National Symphonic Orchestra of Ukraine. Shuan Hern also performed with the State Symphony Orchestra “Novaya Rossiya” at the Crescendo Music Festival in Moscow.

Shuan Hern was also invited to perform at the Young Musicians Music Festival in Yerevan, Armenia in June 2015 with the Armenia Philharmonic Orchestra and State Chamber Orchestra. He has been featured in Australia's Got Talent show and Voice Kids Australia and was a recipient of the AMP Tommorrow's Fund Award and other awards in Australia. Shuan Hern has also performed in music festivals in Oxford, UK and Colburn, USA and will be performing a solo recital in Vienna in July 2015 at the Prayner Conservatorium. He is currently homeschooled with Australian Christian Colllege.
