Christine Cheng | 3rd Prize | Piano 2017 | ENKOR Int'l Music Competition


Christine Cheng, age 17, is a junior at Orange County School of the Arts (OCSA). She currently studies with Dr. Felix Tao Chang. This year, she was accepted to join the Young Artist Guild (YAG) for piano, the highest honor for any MTAC Certificate of Merit student. She was also awarded 2016 National YoungArts Merit Winner. With her passion and dedication for piano, she has been a prizewinner in multiple competitions including MTAC State Solo and Concerto Competition (2015, 2016 and 2017), Los Angeles Liszt International Piano Competition (2014, 2016), Glendale Piano Competition, and SYMF. She recently won 1st Place at American Protégé International Competition of Romantic Music and has made her fourth appearance at Carnegie Hall in New York.

Besides her music study, Christine works diligently as an assistant coach for middle school math teams and also volunteers as a team captain at Discovery Science Cube Orange County.
