Jane Liu | 3rd Prize | Piano 2017 | ENKOR Int'l Music Competition


Jane Liu, pianist, is a native of Sydney, Australia. She is currently a sophomore at the Cleveland Institute of Music, studying with Daniel Shapiro. Her many awards include the Associate Diploma and Licentiate Diploma with Distinction from the Australian Music Examinations Board, the Kathleen Holmes McCrae scholarship and the Miss Gunn Memorial scholarship.  She has performed in Australia, United States, Germany, Asia, Canada, Italy and has been invited to perform at numerous venues including Carnegie Hall, Steinway Piano Gallery and Art Gallery of NSW. She has also been nominated to perform at the Sydney Opera House.

She has won the Australian Music Prize and 19th Century Prize from the Sydney Eisteddfod, the Overall Prize at the Sydney International Music Festival 2016 and second prize in the 2016 Kawai Music Competition.

At summer festivals, she has studied with Robert McDonald, John Perry, Ronan O’Hora, Benjamin Pasternack, Kathryn Selby and Evelyne Brancart.  Jane has been broadcasted live on Fine Music 102.5 as part of their Young Virtuosi Program on numerous occasions. Last year, she was invited to perform a solo recital for the Friends of the Sydney International Piano Competition of Australia.
