Hanbie Park | 2nd Prize | Strings | 4th Edition | ENKOR Int'l Music Competition


13-year-old cellist, Hanbie Park, is a student of Sylvia SeungHee Kang, pupil of David Soyer.
She started the musical journey at the age of three with the piano, and later developed her talents with the cello.

Hanbie has been a winner or earned recognition in numerous competitions including the Music Teachers National Association State Performance Competition, Crescendo International Competition, and the Alabama Music Teachers Association Pre-College Concerto Competition.

She also enjoys being an ensemble member of the Boston Youth Symphony under Music Director Federico Cortese, since 2017. In the summer of 2018, she attended the Bach Fest at Leipzig, Germany with the Boston Youth Symphony.

She has also attended the Boston University Tanglewood Institute Junior Strings Intensive program in 2017.

She will perform at Carnegie Hall with the Dvořák Cello Concerto, 1st movement, on February 9, 2019.

Hanbie has also performed in a masterclasses with Lluis Claret, a member of the New England Conservatory faculty.

When she is not playing the cello, she enjoys drawing, reading fantasy novels, and listening to modern music.
