Garrett Blosen, age 15, enjoys playing musical instruments especially cello, piano, and percussion. He has won multiple awards, including the San Francisco Youth Talent Competition, American Fine Arts Festival, Golden Key International Competition, US Open Music Competition, VOCE, Heritage Festival, and the Junior Bach Festival. He has performed at Carnegie Hall and been invited to NY Lincoln center. Garrett currently studies cello with Jonathan Koh. He enjoys sharing his music with others and uses it as a way to relax. He studies chamber music at the California Music Preparatory Academy and also participates regularly with their outreach program. He was a member of El Camino Youth Symphony. Besides music, he enjoys sailing and robotics including competing in world championships for both activities.

Jessica, age 17, is a senior at Monta Vista High School in the South Bay Area. She began piano lessons at the age of six with Jonathan Zou, later studying under Jessica Wei when she was twelve. She became a member of the California Music Preparatory Academy in 2016, winning a fourth place award at the 2017 United States Open Music Competition as a member of a piano duet. In addition to music, Jessica enjoys reading, drawing, and volunteering at hospitals, having contributed over 200 hours of service.

Alex, age 15, is currently a sophomore at Lynbrook High School. He started playing the violin at age 6 and currently studies with Elbert Tsai from the San Francisco Conservatory. He is also a pianist and is an avid chamber musician. He plays music at his school’s chamber program and has been at CalPrep Music for 3 years. He has been to various chamber summer camps, including Center Stage Strings and Kinhaven. He was in the Sinfonietta ECYS Orchestra. In the past, he has attended numerous competitions, including Junior Bach, US Open, Pacific Musical Society, and the VOCE ensemble competition, in which he received first prize along with his piano trio in the Santa Clara County branch. He enjoys playing bridge and taking walks, as well as reading books.
