Karlie Roberts | GRAND PRIZE | Strings | 4th Edition | ENKOR Int'l Music Competition


Karlie Roberts, 18, is a senior at Sheldon High School in Eugene, Oregon and studies with violist Kimberlee Uwate. Karlie is the youngest-ever member of the Eugene Symphony and is a substitute violist with the Oregon Mozart Players. She has been featured as soloist with the Eugene Symphony, Pacific Philharmonic Orchestra of Pacific University, and with an orchestra made up of members of the Oregon Symphony and Oregon Ballet Theatre Orchestra. Karlie recently was a winner in the 2019 National YoungArts Competition and has been selected to participate in the YoungArts Los Angeles program in March 2019. She is also a prizewinner in the MetroArts Young Artists Debut competition and Eugene Symphony Young Artists Competition. In 2017, Karlie was a member of the National Youth Orchestra of the United States of America. Under the baton of Marin Alsop, the orchestra played at Carnegie Hall before embarking on a multi-country tour of Latin America. Karlie has also attended prestigious summer programs such as the Meadowmount School of Music and Center Stage Strings. At Meadowmount, she had the opportunity to play chamber music alongside Josef Spacek and the late Joseph Silverstein.
