Anika Veda | 3rd Prize | Winds & Percussion | 5th Edition | ENKOR Int'l Music Competition


Anika Veda, 14, currently studies under Hideko Amano and has been playing flute for five years. She has received honorable mentions in the 2019 CSO Young Artist Competition, the 2019 CYSO Philharmonic Orchestra Concerto Competition, the 2019 DePaul Concerto Competition, 2019 Society of American Musicians Competition, and won first place in the Granquist Music Competition in 2017. She was in the District 7 ILMEA Junior Band in 2016 and 2017, and was second chair in 2017. She also recently performed in Kyle Dzapo's masterclass organized by the Chicago Flute Club.

Apart from being a soloist, Anika is currently a member of CYSO’s Philharmonic Orchestra, where she is also part of a woodwind quartet, and was previously in Midwest Young Artist’s Orchestra Program for three years. Anika is also skilled on the violin, Indian Flute, and in Carnatic Vocal (Indian Classical) Music. She enjoys being a part of her school’s Junior Varsity Scholastic Bowl team, and is a freshman in high school.
