William Lu, born in 2005, began studying violin when he was four and a half years old, his current teacher is Professor Sandy Yamamoto from UT Austin.
He won Second Prize in 2019 American Protégé Violin Concerto Competition and played at Weill Hall at Carnegie Hall. He has also won First Prize in 2018 Golden Classical Music Awards, First Prize in 2018 Grand Prize Virtuoso Competition, Third Prize in 2017 ENKOR International Music Competition, First Prize in 2017 Great Composers Competitions' Master of Violin Concertos, Second Prize in 2017 GCC's Rising Talents of Americas Competition and Third Prize in GCC's 2017 Artist of the Year competition. He also plays violin in Honor Orchestra at Canyon Vista Middle School in Austin TX.
