Danny Sungin Park, a 17-year-old eleventh-grader who attends Palos Verdes Peninsula High School, started learning cello in first grade under the tutelage of In-Kyu Lee for 10 years. When he first picked up the cello, he felt motivated to play a professional level. Danny has received numerous awards: the Merit of Winners of the 2019 National Young Arts Foundation, 2019 Westside Music Foundation, MTAC Santa Monica Bay Concerto Competition and a solo with the Santa Monica College Symphony Orchestra, a duet with the Palos Verdes Regional Symphony Orchestra, first place in the 2019 SYMF, first alternate in the 2019 MTAC Artists of the Future, first prize winner in the 2018 Great Composers International Music Competition, second prize winner in the 2018 Glory International Modern & Contemporary Music Competition, first place in the 2017 SYMF Young Cellist Category, first place in the 2017 Beach Cities Scholarship Audition, the Musicianship Award in the California Music Clinic Music Competition, first place in the 3rd Young Muse International Competition, first place in the 2016 LA Violoncello Society, third place 2015 MATC VOCE Music and Ensemble State Finals, and first place in the 2015 MTAC Concerto Competition and a solo with the Culver City Chamber Orchestra. Along with these awards, he also passed the Level 10 advanced panels Certificate of Merit last year. Currently, he is in the Palos Verdes Regional Symphony Orchestra.
