NOVO Quartet consists of Kaya Kato Møller and Nikolai Vasili Nedergaard, violin, Daniel Sledzinski, viola and Signe Ebstrup Bitsch, cello, and is a new Danish-Polish quartet formed in September 2018. All the members are students at the Royal Danish Academy of Music, studying as a chamber music group under Professor Tim Frederiksen – the teacher and mentor behind Danish String Quartet.

Over the years, the four individual members have entered several competitions both in Denmark and abroad, and they have received extremely positive remarks and awards for their performances. The members of the quartet have also played several concerts with solo programs giving them the opportunity to develop as musicians.

In 2015, Kaya Kato Møller won 1st prize as well as the audience award at the "Student Violin Competition of Japan", and the following year she received Copenhagen Summer Festival Talent Prize, and in this connectionshe played a solo concert at Charlottenborg.

In 2017, she received the Jacob Gade Scholarship and Betty and Valdemar van Hauen's music prize.
Most recently, she has won 2nd prize at the Gifu International Music Festival Competition (Japan).

Nikolai Vasili Nedergaard has won 2nd prize in Stockholm's international violin competition and special prize for best interpretation of a Swedish piece (2016). He won the 1st prize in Jacob Gade's violin competition (2016) as well as 1st prize in Daleki Akordi in Croatia (2016).

Daniel Sledzinski has also participated in many solo and chamber competitions, including Young Paganini Legnica (2014), International Chamber Competition in Goritz, Germany (2014), Chamber Competiton in Gdynia (2014), Chamber Music Competition in Rybnik (2013), CEA Competition Warsaw (2015).

Signe Ebstrup Bitsch recently competed in Latvia where she entered "The 10th International Karl Davidov Cello Competition". Previously, she has won awards in e.g. Slovenia in the ""Svirel International Competition"" where she was both a finalist and a recipient of special prize. In Denmark, she has won gold medal and a talent prize in "Berlingske's Classical Music Competition". In addition, she has been awarded Jacob Gade's 3-year Talent Prize.

Additionally, the young strings have each participated in masterclasses with famous and highly respected professors from all over the world, among others: Nikolaj Znaider, Pinchas Zukerman, Milan Vitek, Sergey Kravchenko, Lawrence Power and Jeffrey Irvine.

Despite their short time together as a quartet, NOVO Quartet has already played a wide range of repertoire for a variety of concerts. In May 2019 they won the Køge Chamber Music Competition 2019, and most recently they got invited to participate in the Carl Nielsen International Chamber Music Competition 2019, where they got to the semifinal. In november 2019 NOVO quartet was invited to China, Shanghai to play concerts.
