Alice Wan | 3rd Prize | Piano | 7th Edition | ENKOR Int'l Music Competition

A sixth-grader at Cary Academy, NC, Alice Wan started learning the piano when she was five years old. Since coming under the tutelage of her current piano teacher Florence Ko in 2017, Alice has made tremendous improvement in her playing skills. Over the past three years, she won various awards in different competitions—third place in the junior category of the Marlene Speece Clifford Competition in 2018; first place in the Mary Davis Memorial Award, Junior Category II, in 2019; first place in the Josephine Bunch Sande Award, Junior Category III, in 2020. She moved on to the state finals in 2019 and 2020, and finished runner-up both times. In 2018 and 2019, Alice placed first and third in the Young Artist Auditions Intermediate I and II, respectively. During the summer of 2019, she was accepted by and participated in the International Piano Festival of Philadelphia, where she took master classes with renowned pianists such as Gary Graffman and Susan Starr. Most recently, Alice won first place in the 2020 Middle School Bullard Competition of North Carolina.
