Lucy Will, 15, began playing the piano at the age of 5 and has studied with Dr. Wendy Yamashita in Hawaii for the past 8 years. Prior piano competitions include MTNA Hawaii, (2019 - HR, 2018 - 1st), Steinway Junior Competition - Hawaii (2018 - 1st Place); the Osaka International Music Competition (2017); and the American Protege Competition which allowed her to perform at Carnegie Hall in June of 2018. Lucy was also invited to perform at the Leeward Music Festival in 2019.
In addition to her passion for the piano, Lucy is also an avid violin player. She was involved in a chamber music program last year and is a current member of her high school symphony. She was also a part of Hawaii's All-State Orchestra which culminated in a performance in January 2020. In her free time, Lucy enjoys giving back to the community and is currently mentoring a young, visually impaired child on the violin using the Suzuki method.
