Eurie Seo | 3rd Prize | Piano | 8th Edition | ENKOR Int'l Music Competition

 


Eurie Seo is a junior at San Ramon Valley High School. She started her classical music studies at the age of three, first with piano, then violin at the age of six. Eurie has been studying piano with Dr. Mihee Lee and violin with Ju-Yi Peng in the US. She also studied with Jiseon Park for violin in Seoul, Korea during her stay there between 2016-17. In addition to private lessons, Eurie currently participates in San Francisco Symphony Youth Orchestra (SFSYO) as a member in the first violin section since 2017. She was a member for 2019 SFSYO’s European Tour that featured classical pieces from Glanert, Tchaikovsky, and Mahler at concert halls in Odense, Copenhagen, Hamburg, Berlin, Vienna, and Budapest. Eurie won numerous awards both in piano and violin. She  was a first place winner of the American Protege International Music Talent Competition 2019 in violin playing a piece of Wieniawski, making her Carnegie Hall debut. She also won two third places for the American Protege International Piano and Strings Competition 2020 and Concerto Competition in piano, making her debut at Carnegie Hall with piano. She won a total of seven prizes at 2014 and 2019 United States Open Music Competition in piano and violin with her first prize win in piano playing a Beethoven’s sonata, and first prize in violin at 2014, 2015, and 2016 National Elementary School Student Music Competition hosted by Seoul National University of Education, respectively. She also won third prize in violin at 2016 National Music Competition hosted by Seoul Philharmonic. Eurie won third place in violin at 2019 Diablo Valley College - Holy Names University Young Artist String Competition, and second place in piano at Korean American Music Supporters’ Association (KAMSA) Competition in 2019. In her school district (San Ramon Valley Unified School District), she was a winner in Instrumental Music (violin) in 2019 Student Recognition Project. Since the pandemic started in 2020, She participated in several online, but open worldwide, competitions. In 2020, she won first place in Best Liszt Performance, second place in Masters of Piano Concerto, and second place for violin and third place for piano in Rising Talents of Americas competitions hosted by Great Composers Competition Series. She was placed as honorable place winner in piano and piano concerto for the 27th United States International Music Competition as well during the same year.
