Ryan Lu, 12, from Dwight Englewood School, started playing piano at age 5 and has studied with Stella Xu since he was 7. Ryan has won top prizes at numerous competitions. His recent accomplishments include New Jersey state winner of 2020-2021 MTNA Piano Performance Competition, first place in the 2020 Steinway Tristate (NY, NJ, CT) Piano Competition, first place in 2019 Steinway Junior Piano Competition, Gold Prize in the 2020 Vivo International Competition, first place in the NJMTA Young Musicians Competition for four straight years (2017, 2018, 2019, 2020), and first place in the 2018 and 2019 NJMEA Piano Competition. He has performed at Carnegie Hall, Merkin Concert Hall and New Jersey Performing Arts Center. Besides piano, Ryan also plays cello in New Jersey Symphony Youth Orchestra.
