Shijie Li | 2nd Prize | Violin | 8th Edition | ENKOR Int'l Music Competition


Starting violin studies at age 5 with professor Wei Zhao and professor Zheng Liu, Shijie Li got admitted to Central Conservatory of Music Middle School in 2015, under the tutelage of Professor Tao Yan. In addition, he received instructions from Zhou Qian, Wei Lu, Feng Ning, Thomas Sivorski, Nam Yun Kim, Lucy Robert, etc. At present he is the Principal Violin of Combine Contemporary Chamber Orchestra.

He had the honor to collaborate with Ludovic Morlot, the Grammy Award winner, and Garrick Ohlsson, the Gold Award winner of Chopin Competition at Shanghai Oriental Art Center, Konzerthaus Berlin, Snape Maltings, and Bolzano Nuovo Teatro Communale as a member of National Youth Orchestra – China. In 2018, the orchestra performed in the New Year Concert at People’s Conference Hall in Beijing. In 2017, the orchestra performed in the concert for the 60th Anniversary of the school. In the same year, he joined March String Quartet as the second violin. In 2016, he participated in Bravo! Music Festival and successfully collaborated with Great Wall Quartet. 

Highlights of his competition achievements include First Absolute Prize in Iscart International Music Competition 2020, First Prize in International Music Competition Paris “Grand Prize Virtuoso” 2020, Third Prize in Hong Kong International Violin Competition 2017, and Third Prize in Thomas & Evon Cooper International Violin Competition 2012.
