Avery Chen | 3rd Prize | Winds & Percussion | 8th Edition | ENKOR Int'l Music Competition


Avery Chen is a junior at Homestead High School and studies flute with Isabelle Chapuis. She was invited to perform at Carnegie Hall as a first-prize winner of the Golden International Music and American Protege International Woodwinds and Brass Competitions and received Superior with Command Performance at the California Music Educators Association Bay Section and State Solo Festivals. 

In addition to competitions, Avery is an active flutist in many ensembles. She is the Woodwind Captain of the Homestead Marching Band, Principal Flute of her school’s top wind ensemble, symphony orchestra, and first flute in the California Youth Symphony Orchestra. She has been selected to perform in the National Flute Association Flute Choir, Santa Clara County Honor Band, California All-State Honor Band, Western Band Association Honor Band, and San Jose Honor Wind Ensembles. 

Avery also serves as the Executive Director of Notelove, a non-profit organization that provides free music lessons to youth across the United States. She leads a team of 120+ instructors teaching 180+ students across 18 different instruments. "
