David Kwon | 2nd Prize | Winds & Percussion | 8th Edition | ENKOR Int'l Music Competition

It has been slightly over three years since I have been under the tutelage of my clarinet instructor, Hongsik Park. In these three eventful years, I have been able to learn various wonderful pieces from a handful of great composers, which has allowed me to become more understanding of my pieces, expressive in my playing, and have a tremendous improvement in overall musicianship. Some of my recent notable accomplishments include participating in California All State Music Educators Conference from 2020-2022, receiving first place in the Great Composers Competition, and receiving second place in the Southwestern Youth Music Festival. Additionally, I am a member of several local orchestras, where I act as the principal clarinetist for each. Other than clarinet, I also play piano and violin. I enjoy all three instruments equally, as they all provide me with the solace derived from music.
