Aiden Yu (13) studies violin with Davis King at the Music Institute of Chicago and Julimar Gonzalez. He joined the Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestras at six years old and has sat as the concertmaster for the Preparatory Strings, Debut, Concert, and Philharmonic Orchestras.
Aiden has won First Place in many competitions, including the 2020 and 2021 of the Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestras concerto competition of Concert and Philharmonic Oorchestras, the Society of American Musicians (Intermediate of 2022 and Junior of 2020), 2021 Vivo International Music Competition, Cremona International Competition (Intermediate of 2021 & Junior of 2019), 2021 Houston International Music Competition, 2020 DePaul Concerto Competition, 2019 Music Competition in Honor of Confucius, and 2019 International Music Competition Brussels Grand Prize Virtuoso. Additionally, Aiden received second place in the 2021, 2019, and 2017 of the Sejong Music Competition, and Honorable Mention at the 2021 and 2019 of the Walgreens Concerto Competition.
Aiden has performed at Carnegie Hall in New York, Museo del Violino in Cremona, and Palais des Beaux-Arts in Brussels. He also has participated in masterclasses with Almita Vamos, Rachael Barton Pine, Roberto Cani, Jacob Lakirovich, Hagai Shaham, Desiree Ruhstrat & Fabiola Kim.
Aiden enjoys working out, math, and building creations.
